Monsoon wind farm, Laos


Monsoon Wind Farm is a 600 MW onshore wind project. It is scheduled for Attapu, Laos. The project is currently in the authorization phase. It will be developed in a single phase. Construction of the project is expected to begin in 2022 and is expected to enter commercial operation in 2025.

The description

The project is under development and is currently owned by BCPG Public and Impact Energy Asia. The company’s stake in the project amounts to 55% and 45% respectively.

The cost of the project is estimated at approximately $ 1,300 million.

Development status

Construction of the project is expected to start from 2022. Thereafter, it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.

Power purchase contract

The ASEAN Energy Center and Vietnam Electricity are expected to be the electricity buyers for the project.
