President orders uninterrupted power supply

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has called on all responsible parties to take measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

The President made the observation during a special discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday regarding the existing power cuts and the fuel issue.

After lengthy discussions with officials from the Ministries of Electricity and Energy, it was decided to continue importing fuel without delay, to maintain reserves and supplies of fuel and coal for the production of electricity.

Officials said there would be no power cuts from March 5.

Fuel distribution at all gas stations across the country will be standardized starting today. Therefore, officials have urged the public to refrain from collecting fuel out of irrational fear.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ministers Basil Rajapaksa, Gamini Lokuge, Udaya Gammanpila, Johnston Fernando, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Ramesh Pathirana, Minister of State Kanchana Wijesekera, Governor of the Central Bank, Secretary to the President, Senior Advisor to the President, Cabinet Secretaries and of State The Ministries, Heads and Heads of Institutions were present at the discussion.
