The City of Tshwane (COT) announces that there will be a power outage to Rosslyn Substation on Sunday 16th January 2022.
The city says the planned power outages are due to emergency repairs to the substation following acts of theft and
vandalism. The service interruption is scheduled for 24 hours from Sunday January 16, 2022 at 07:00 to Monday January 17, 2022 at 07:00.
The following commercial areas and equipment will be affected:
• Domain Nkwe
• Rosslyn Gardens
• Local ASEA substation
• Rautenbach local substation
• DATSUN metal pressing
Residents and businesses will need to arrange for an alternate power supply for the expected outage.
“All power supply points must be treated as energized at all times,” the city said in a statement.
To report a power failure, contact the TOC call center on 012 358 9999 and choose option 3.
Water supply restored to Iscor Heights
COT says the tie-in connections to Rand Water’s supply point and Iscor Heights high-level sewer were successfully completed on Thursday evening.
Water valves at Rand water points were opened soon after and supply was restored to the majority of low lying areas.
“Areas without water supply, especially high altitude areas, will be restored when the water supply system is fully restored,” said TOC in a report.
COT has since deployed water tankers to areas that are still experiencing water shortages or no water.
Tank trucks are parked at the following points:
- Danville Spar
- Strachen ,Street
- Bergaartellerie Hoffmann
- Norman Eaton
The city apologized for the inconvenience caused.
